Release Notes

UberFLAC 0.9.5
  • Adds switch /autoname:ShortTitle
  • Adds switch /out:<fileName>
  • Prefix failed directories with !!_ERRORS_!! when /sig used
  • Allow autoname on convert/re-sign
  • Bail when .log error encountered without parsing .flac files (for speed)
  • Improved diagnostics

Mediags 0.9.5
  • Fixes missing progress counter with /g:Verbose
  • Adds switch /out:<fileName>
  • Improved EAC log diagnostics

The new UberFLAC switch /autoname:ShortTitle uses the same tags as ArtistTitle except that generated names will often be shorter. For information on this and other strategies, see Naming Strategies.

The new switch /out:<fileName> instructs the program to copy all output to the file specified in addition to the screen. This achieves the same functionality as the tee utility within the program.

This release includes WpfFlac.exe which is a GUI front-end for UberFLAC. For more unformation on this usable but experimental program, see UberFLAC over WPF.

Download either mediags.exe or uberflac.exe. Either one will require the support library FormatDomain.dll so download it too. The uberflac.exe program requires the program flac.exe to be in your path. If the /rg switch is used, metaflac.exe is required too. Extract them from downloaded from here:

There is no installer, just copy the above files to a directory in your path. Execute from the command line. Use the switch /help to view syntax.

You may also create a desktop shortcut to mediags.exe or uberflac.exe and add the /k switch to the target in the shortcut properties dialog. Then drag and drop a directory from Explorer to the shortcut icon to invoke the program recursively on that directory. The /k switch instructs the program to wait for a keypress before exiting.
