Release Notes

If you use the /rg switch, this UberFLAC upgrade is needed.

Mediags 0.9.3
  • Fixes incomplete prompt when stdout redirected with /R switch
  • Changes issue messages to indicate if they are repairable
  • Adds diagnosing any file when extension is explicit by file name or /f switch
  • Adds counting of Thumbs.db files

UberFLAC 0.9.3
  • Fixes botched implementation of /rg switch
  • Improves track error message details

This release improves the flexibility of the filter switch or file argument to have extensions that are unknown to Mediags such as the one produced by the chkdsk utility:

C:\> Mediags /f:*.chk T:\

This release changes the output for repairable issues in order to improve searchability. The tilde (~) character in the first column indicates the issue is repairable. Repairable issues must now warn, so now a session would look like:

T:\>mediags /R t:\Classical\04tuna.chk

~ Warning: True file format is .ogg

Rename to extension of .ogg?

This release improves UberFLAC error reporting. For example, the vague:

* Error: Track(s) not OK.

becomes the nonvague:

* Error: Tracks 3,5-7 not OK.

Download either mediags.exe or uberflac.exe. Either one will require the support library FormatDomain.dll so download it too. The uberflac.exe program requires the program flac.exe to be in your path. If the /rg switch is used, metaflac.exe is required too. Extract them from downloaded from here:

There is no installer, just copy the above files to a directory in your path. Execute from the command line. Use the switch /help to view syntax.

You may also create a desktop shortcut to mediags.exe or uberflac.exe and add the /k switch to the target in the shortcut properties dialog. Then drag and drop a directory from Explorer to the shortcut icon to invoke the program recursively on that directory. The /k switch instructs the program to wait for a keypress before exiting.
